Word of the artist

The voices are oil painted portraits made by me, Patricia Van Lubeck. They are not painted according to actual people. They just exist in my head.

While painting the first few ones, the question occurred to me; “How would they be related to each other?” During the long solitary hours of painting and an idle mind, it wasn’t difficult to got entangled in their imaginary life’s. Slowly it appears that writing about their ‘experiences in life’ got part of this painting theme too. So, their collaborative blog was born.
Although, I’m not sure if it is their blog. Because, I am them. They are me.

You might notice that English is not my native language. Earlier this scared me off to let my voices out. But after realizing that my own continuous feeling of blockage is worse than the suspected judgement because of some language errors, I unlocked my closet. Yeah!
Of course I knew this. But knowing & acting are two different things. And maybe, one day, I’ll grow enough confidence to even delete this particular alinea 😉
